Electronics engineering services
Micro Digital Engineering provides seven engineering services for electronics in industrial equipment and new products: complete device development, power electronics, replacement of obsolete boards, PCB design, embedded firmware, troubleshooting and test benches. Each service can be ordered as a full project or as a defined first stage.

Start from your situation
- Developing a new device or electronic system: Custom Electronics Development.
- Keeping equipment in service when a board or module is no longer available: Obsolete Electronics Replacement & Redesign.
- An existing design fails, overheats or behaves unpredictably: Electronics Troubleshooting & Design Review.
Custom Electronics Development
Development of a new device from an idea, a schematic or Gerber files: specification, circuit and PCB design, manufacturing files, PCB fabrication through manufacturing partners, in-house prototype assembly, testing and tuning, up to a prototype you accept against the specification. Integration into an existing system is agreed as separate work.
Power Electronics Design
DC-DC converters, AC-DC power supplies, inverters and gate drivers, new or redesigned, built around agreed electrical parameters, load, thermal conditions, control and protection. Power prototypes are assembled, brought up and load-tested in-house. Switching, resonant and high-voltage stages are covered as parts of the same service.
Obsolete Electronics Replacement & Redesign
A working replacement for a board or module that can no longer be bought, so existing equipment stays in service: analysis of the original, compatible redesign, prototypes, verification in the equipment and documentation for repeat manufacturing.
- PCB reverse engineering — analysis of an existing board when no schematics are available.
- PCB schematic and design data reconstruction — schematics, component lists and manufacturing data recreated from an existing board.
- Compatible replacement boards — a board built around the existing dimensions, connectors, interfaces and behaviour.
- Firmware reverse engineering — when the module’s behaviour depends on firmware.
Schematic & PCB Design
An individual board designed to defined requirements and interfaces: control, power, measurement or interface boards, with schematics, layout, BOM, manufacturing files and prototype bring-up.
Embedded Firmware & Control
Firmware that controls equipment: control loops, protection, measurement, diagnostics and communication, developed for the target hardware and tested on it.
- Firmware reverse engineering — extraction, analysis, migration or reimplementation of existing industrial firmware.
Electronics Troubleshooting & Design Review
Finding the cause of failures, unstable operation or overheating, making corrective changes and verifying the result; or reviewing a design before it goes further.
- EMI troubleshooting and EMC design review — interference and signal integrity problems.
Functional Test Benches & Fixtures
Test equipment for boards and power modules: adapters, test sequences, measurements, parameter logging and acceptance criteria.
Which service fits your task?
| If you need | Choose | Rather than |
|---|---|---|
| A complete device or system | Custom Electronics Development | PCB design, when only one board is needed |
| One board to defined requirements | Schematic & PCB Design | full device development |
| A power stage with defined electrical parameters and load | Power Electronics Design | PCB design as layout work only |
| Equipment to keep working when a module is unavailable | Obsolete Electronics Replacement | reverse engineering, which analyses the board but does not deliver a replacement |
| Documentation of an existing board | Schematic reconstruction | a replacement project |
| New control firmware | Embedded Firmware & Control | firmware recovery, which works with existing firmware |
| The cause of a failure or unstable behaviour | Troubleshooting & Design Review | EMI troubleshooting, for interference problems specifically |
| Equipment that tests your boards | Test Benches & Fixtures | testing as one stage inside a development project |
